The newborn days. If there’s a time worth documenting, it’s now.
Those early newborn days pass in a blur…
…and no matter how much you try to hold onto them, so much fades faster than you expect, like the tiny details and the way they fit in your arms.
That’s why newborn photos matter. Not to create something perfect, but to give you something real to come back to — a way to remember how this season felt.
My approach is relaxed and honest, documenting your baby in your arms and in your space, so you have something lasting from a time that changes almost overnight.
Let’s capture relaxed and real in-home newborn photos, so you can always remember.

Typical sleepy/cuddly newborn photos are scheduled within the first two weeks after bub’s birth. However, the time at which you schedule the photos depends on the type of newborn photos you’d like to have. From about 4-5 weeks old babies tend to be more interactive and occasionally we even get smiles. Also, you may have waited until after your baby’s birth to decide to book - and that’s fine! Technically newborn photos can be booked up until bub is 4 months old.

It is best to book your session as soon as you can - even as early as 12 weeks pregnant! However, you can get in touch even after your baby has been born.

I always allow lots of time for newborn sessions for this exact reason. Sessions are baby-led, meaning we don’t force anything. If your baby wants to feed for 20 minutes - no problem. If they want to be held for most of the session, that’s fine. My style is about documenting this moment in time, not forcing you or your baby to perform. And I promise you, we will still capture so many beautiful moments. But these moments will never be at the expense of you or your baby’s well-being. I fully believe that your experience will influence how much you love your photos.

Your entire immediate family is welcome to attend your baby’s newborn session. If you’d like additional family members/people to attend, simply let me know when you enquire so I can ensure you book the appropriate package.

I typically photograph newborns in the comfort of your home. However, I’ve also photographed newborns at the beach, in a rainforest, and in the bush. If you have a particular location in mind let’s chat about it! I can also send through some recommendations if you’re unsure.

Babies are on their own schedule. While I ask that you to book in a date for your newborn session, we always book this as a tentative date that can change based on when they actually arrive, especially if you book shortly after your due date. I simply ask that you keep me in the loop and let me know when they are born so that we can change the session to another date if needed. No stress.

I have some sweet, neutral coloured newborn knits I can bring along to your session. Otherwise I recommend dressing your baby in something that fits well (not too big) and shows their hands and feet. It’s also really sweet to capture photos that show a bit more skin, so we can change things up as the session goes along.

You’ve just had a baby - so do not feel like you need make your house spotless! I do not expect this. I am all about capturing real, documentary-style photos and I highly doubt your house is typically spotless. If I notice something in the photo that is distracting then I will suggest we move it at the time. This may just mean clearing off a table or bedside table.

Of course. While in-home sessions are super convenient, I get that you may not want your session there. If this is the case, we can discuss other possibilities like the beach, bush, or anywhere that might be special to you.
